What Großwald Covers

Großwald is an independent European defence intelligence publication. We read Europe's rearmament as one moving system: procurement, alliance posture, industrial readiness.

Signal runs Monday to Friday at 23:00 CET, covering the same day. Curated and Systems sit behind it. The audience is the institutional readership that decides, funds, supplies, and reports on European defence.

How we read European Defence

Signal over noise. Every development is filtered against one question: does this change the European structural picture? What survives is reported for what it means, with analysis kept visibly separate from fact.

Primary sources, attributed. We work from government and alliance releases, company filings, and wire services where they state they have seen the document. We do not recycle aggregators. Claims are attributed and cross-triangulated. Our corrections log is public.

Independent. Großwald is published by Veilmark LLC and unaffiliated with any government, alliance, or contractor. Editorial independence is structural, set out in full in our ethics statement. Advertising, sponsored content, and advisory mandates run separately from editorial; where they touch a piece, the relationship is declared.

What Großwald does not cover

Großwald does not cover:

• US domestic defence politics — We cover US-European interactions (transatlantic burden-sharing, US systems procured by European allies) but not US domestic procurement, congressional politics, or Pentagon strategy except where it directly affects European security.
• Asian-Pacific defence — We do not cover Indo-Pacific security, AUKUS, or Asian defence markets except where they intersect with European programmes (e.g., GCAP with Japan).
• Tactical military operations — We do not provide real-time battlefield reporting, OSINT tracking of troop movements, or operational intelligence. Our conflict coverage focuses on strategic and industrial implications.
• Classified or leaked material — We do not publish or analyse classified documents, leaked intelligence, or material obtained through unauthorised access.
• Advocacy or policy recommendations — We analyse policy; we do not advocate for specific policy positions, procurement decisions, or political outcomes.

• Signal — the daily flagship. Every weekday, 23:00 CET: a structured read on what moved in European defence and what it means — the day assessed, not a feed of headlines. Reporting and assessment stay visibly separate, so you can always see where the facts end and the judgement begins.
• Curated — the weekly. A single day rarely tells you what the week did. Curated reads back across the cycle to sort the durable from the transient — which threads held, which reversed, and the pattern no single edition could show. The running thesis is carried forward and revised in the open, not restated.
•   Perspectives — the long-form. Structural analysis of the forces beneath the headlines: procurement politics, industrial strategy, and the distance between what a technology can do and what doctrine and budgets will let it become. The recurring question is what actually gets built — and why.
• Systems — the reference layer.
